FAQs

  • All funds raised are donated directly to The Indigenous Marathon Foundation to support their work.

IMF programs include grassroots running and walking (RAW) groups in 40+ Indigenous communities, and the I-CAN program in remote indigenous primary schools across Australia.

Funds may also be used to fund travel costs to enable participants in the Indigenous Marathon Project to complete their program by travelling to complete an international marathon, such as the New York City Marathon.

Read more about the IMF on their website https://www.imf.org.au/

  • Money raised will go to the IMF to directly support their programs. Unless otherwise specifically requested, funds will be used at IMF's discretion, where they are most beneficial.

  • The Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) is a health promotion charity that uses running to celebrate Indigenous resilience and achievement, and create inspirational Indigenous leaders.

  • Rules:

    • Minimum 5kms a day, every day, until I've raised $1,000,000 for the IMF.

    Exceptions:

    • Distances may be varied in the lead up to, or recovery from, a longer distance race to allow for preparation or recovery, or if I'm seriously injured.

    • I'll only have a day off if I am hospitalised or under strict medical orders not to run.

  • Running has given me so much, and now I want to pay it forward.

The reason that I chose the Indigenous Marathon Foundation is because their mission to build resilience and confidence through running is deeply aligned with my own reasons for running, and with what running has given me.

  • July 3, 2022. What began as a personal challenge in to run 5km daily for 30 days turned into a streak lasting over two years. I’ve run through illness, jetlag, grief, and joy—covering between 5 and 10km a day, completing marathons, ultra-marathons, and running across Australia and abroad.
